Driving Across America: Arizona and New Mexico

ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO
5/13 spent the night in a shit-motel in Lordsburg, NM. $40 rip-off. Filth. Usually we aren’t the ones to complain about quality, especially after 6 months in Mexico. The plumbing was shot, hot spicket burnt Claire. The shower did not drain and flooded the whole bathroom into the carpeted area. Zero amenities, literally just 2 thin towels. False advertising. No coffee, no wi-fi, nothing. Lady running it was friendly, but drunk. Not worth complaining about to her. Left there and drove to Sonora, Texas where we popped our tent at 1:00AM on the cavern ranch, under live oak trees.

  1. Usually hotels give their shit rooms for "pet friendly." I've found when I travel with Corky I always get the rooms with the broken toilet, stained carpets, burnt blankets, and splintered furniture.
Looks like fun! Love the southwest!!
