Coyote Bay - Posada Concepcion

4/17 Been hanging out with Bob and Sergio in Posada. Very informative. Saw Saturn last night for the first time with naked eye in a telescope. Fascinating. Got a picture through the scope! Hard NW wind today and supposedly tomorrow. We’re waiting to cross the Sea but it’s hard to time the weather and harder to leave Baja. We almost can’t. It truly is a magical place. Phosphorescence was like rowing through neon glowstick sludge gravy. Through the grass patches the oars were like paintbrushes spraying paint on a canvas. Nuts.
4/18 Norther yesterday. Calm night. Slept in. 25-30 kts again today. By noon gusting over 40 kts. Felt like a nonstop train ride. Mast vibrating. Even the solar panel was, that’s a first. Lazy day. Tomorrow planning our course to Domingo or Chivato. Soon, need another weather check and then we can cross.
4/20 Probably the last of the North wind. 10 maybe 15 kts today. Big ring around the moon tonight. Cleaned and washed the boat. The hull needs a scrub, too lazy. We’re hoping to leave in the morning for Chivato. About a 20 mile sail. If not Santo Domingo is only 8 miles

this map shows it as playa concepcion...

setting up the telescope with a clear desert night sky

moon crater shots

it took 10 minutes to get this shot through that tiny eye hole. i had to slowly move the telescope to follow saturn, if not it would leave your field of view in about 30 seconds. look down the scope and you can see it with its ring! it was bigger and more clear in real life.

see us?

(there are quite a few houses for sale, cheap, but i only recommend something like that to someone who is adventurous in the gringo/mexican hybrid-retirement culture and knows what they are getting themselves into.........)
