TUCSON
5/2 Left the boat-yard at noon. We are heading for Tucson, Arizona with Ben to go hunt down a vehicle. We have our eyes set on a Volvo we found on craigslist.
5/3 Went to the UPS store to get a “local address”. Went to DMV and got an Arizona driver’s license. I was in and out of there in under an hour! For $25 I received a valid driver’s license that does not expire until 2053! Both of our driver’s licenses had expired while we were in Mexico and to re-new them long distance with North Carolina was turning into a head-ache.
5/4 We said farewell to Ben and kitten-head. We’re staying in a motel waiting for a banking situation to take place. Which after a few days and many phone calls, was set up properly.
5/ 8 We are the proud new owners of “La Sancha” our 1983 Volvo 240 classic wagon. She was $1000. “La Sancha” is the perfect name! It translates to “the other woman, or, your mistress”. Which she is our other woman away from “Splendid Isolation”. She is a 4 speed Manual with electronic over-drive. I barely know how to drive stick, and Claire has never.
our last mexican farmer's market
fresh pork
our friends Leila and Tom hauling out "Brizo"

Uncle Ben!
celebrating the American life
checking out the Volvo and getting an oil change
The only thing we used our new address keys for.
Nice work!
