Driving Across America: Georgia

SAVANNAH GEORGIA
5/22 Left the grandparents house before noon. My Dad is heading to the Gulf Coast. Claire and I are heading about 4 hours to Savannah Georgia to visit old friends of the Calvino’s Ms. Joy Ange and her daughter Candice. Whom have both been attending higher educational studies in the area, and are currently working towards two entrepreneurship's. Candice is working for a historical tour group, so we hopped in their car and went for a quick tour of a park with a stroll down the riverside. Very impressive Harbor with a massive river mouth entry. Took a free ferry ride to the other side! Had amazing Pizza from Vinnie-Van-Go-Go’s. Cash Only! But we made it happen. Wet Willie’s for our evening Daiquiri.
5/23 Up and out exploring the area. Breakfast from a local bakery. Blueberry Fritters. To a historical cemetery, on the riverfront. To another cemetery from the 17-1800’s where Civil War soldiers camped out. Moving the headstones around, making most graves unknown, leaving the souls to wander the yard. Drove out to Tybee Island. Saw the beach, with tons of olive snails in the low tide. Horse shoe crab stuck by a piling under the pier. Lunch at Pig & Shrimp. Stopped by the fort and battery. Mote around it! Tons of cannonball holes from the Yankees taking over the fortress. Firing from 5 miles away on the adjacent island. Those Confederates surely put up a hell of a fight.
