Driving Across America: Florida

FLORIDA
5/18 Up with the heat of the sun on Navarre beach around 8:00AM. Claire took a morning dip in the Gulf and we were off. Heading to New Smyrna, Florida to my grandparents house. Stopped in Gainesville for dinner. Pulled into my grandparents at 11:00PM, back on the east coast!
5/19 Slept hard after all that driving and loss of sleep the past few nights. Hung out and caught up with the grandparents. Cleaned their gutters. There was a massive, powerful thunderstorm in the early morning. It shook the whole house. All this weather is nuts. Claire did all our backed up laundry while I buffed La Sancha with rubbing compound. Trying to restore her fading paint job so that it doesn’t get ruined this summer on the Outer Banks in all that salt. We had a proper family dinner with steak n taters. Relaxed and watched a movie.
5/20 After her morning run, I took Claire for a tour around the area. We scored at the local thrift stores. New summer wardrobes and gear. Picked up some fabric for La Sancha’s seat covers that we plan to make. Saw the beach at Flagler Ave. Got some turtle wax and rain-x for La Sancha. Piña’s 2nd birthday tomorrow. My dad called and he’s coming down tomorrow, surprise! Had chicken, brown rice, and veggie stir-fry for dinner. Buffed La Sancha again, with turtle wax. Her paint job is almost restored. Another good scrub down and layer of wax, and she will be looking new again! Watched another movie and planned our trip up to NC, leaving here Wednesday morning.
5/21 Piña’s birthday! 2 years old! Went to Lowe’s to get some fertilizer with G-pa. Michael Senior showed up by dinner time and we had a big dinner.
