Ensenada

11/13-17
Started off with good intentions... Left Shelter Island at the break of dawn and had a wake up call from an aircraft carrier. "blue hull sailboat what are your intentions?" "heading south to Ensenada" "keep 500 yards away from our vessel or the coast guard will shoot you." "roger that. over and out." Finally got sailing.  Going about 5 knots.  Put her in wing n wing. The wind switched. So we turned the motor on and beat into it at 3 1/2 knots.  Kept that up all day.  Got on a good tack and cruised at 6 knots for awhile. Dropped the sails at sunset.  Set course straight for Ensenada.  Swell and wind picked up. Ran out of gas blah blah blah.  A few mishaps. Blah Blah. Got into Ensenada in the middle of the night. Perfect timing... not. Been enjoying margaritas and working on the boat here the past few days. We feel A LOT more prepared for the long haul ahead its going to be so great!!! oh yeah and long!!!!
